I had an amazing afternoon today. Arlene and I took some time to run a few
errands preparing for our trip to Asia, and after lunch with my family,
my grandson Gabe and I spent some very meaningful time in my backyard. We
were finding sticks and pinecones and discovering many new
games to play with them. You can’t imagine how cool a stick and pinecone is
until you discover them with a two year old. It was a perfect
afternoon.
I know sometimes my monthly updates sound like the notes of a world
wanderer. Since I got home from Las Vegas, I made a quick four-day trip to
London to look at office space possibilities, spend some time with the
staff, and share a great day with our UK leaders. I was then home for four
days and now I am on a United Airlines flight bound for Hong Kong from San
Francisco. Arlene is with me on this trip with the assignment of not
only keeping me company (which I am very appreciative of) but also to
introduce Tahiti Trim® Plan 40™ to Hong Kong and participate in the first
ever Women’s Health Summit in Taiwan. After Taiwan, we will travel to
Shanghai China to review office and store locations and conduct
management meetings regarding the opening of China.
Home from China for four days, then I’m off to Japan, Brazil, Germany, UK,
Sweden, and Norway. Home for four more days, then I’m off to Tahiti to
participate in the Black
Pearl trip and then the Outrigger trip. Home from Tahiti for a few days
then off to Georgia for a great meeting with our South East USA leaders.
I’m hoping for some time
between trips to plant my garden at home.
Our business is so consuming, but one thing I have learned in my many years
is you can’t rest during a momentum wave. We are moving forward fast and it
is not the time
to be timid. This is the time to be bold. Think of this:
March 2004 sales top $42,200,000.00 USD!! This means March is our second
highest sales month in company history. The
first quarter of 2004 has been a record setting first quarter. We are over
$11 Million USD ahead of last year on a
year-to-date basis. (Very meaningful since 2003 was such a record setting
year.) We are experiencing new record levels of
Case AutoShip qualified Distributors and first time Fast Start Bonus check
recipients. We are in full momentum.
There is so much inside of me that I wish I could express. I was sitting
backstage in Las Vegas with Kerry, Kim, Stephen, and John and we were
feeling quite emotional as
we kind of took a little trip back through the amazing eight years since we
began this journey. It seems so surreal. Like we are watching this
incredible story unfold before
us and can’t imagine that we are part of it. We often get feeling quite
nostalgic when we get together. We begin to remember events and names and
milestones. Like the
time Kerry flew across the country to Atlanta, Georgia, to meet with four
people. The time John and I pinned a new Pearl in Puerto Rico on
television. The thousands and
thousands of friends, seemingly millions of photos, and so many times
simply telling the story of Tahitian Noni. One week before the Las Vegas
conference, the five of us
flew to Los Angeles to view the new movie “Origins and Destiny”. We were
overcome with emotion. Now, remember, we have told and heard this story
millions of times, it
seems; yet seeing this beautiful production brought out the tears. We love
this and always will. Now, I want to share something with you. Because I
travel so much, I often
take the opportunity to e-mail my thoughts to my partners. This helps us to
stay united and of the same vision. This past week, on my way home from
London, I took
some time to write some of my thoughts to Kerry, Kim, Stephen, and John. I
want to share a few lines from this note to them.
“Partners,
I am on my way home from London and wanted to share some thoughts with you.
We have such a great business.
If your bones aren’t jangling, they should be. We have the most powerful
story, product strategy, and business strategy ever witnessed in our
industry. Our brand is gaining
such strength it’s scary. We are establishing ourselves beyond traditional
network marketing and setting such a standard that we leave our other
brothers and sisters in
the dust. Leaders worldwide are wildly excited. We hit a solid out of the
park, base clearing home run in Las Vegas. We had sales at the event of
over $1 Million and could
have had more but we ran beyond our forecast on some items. We are on track
to exceed our optimistic forecasts month in and month out; and best of all,
I feel that
momentum is building.
The story of Tahitian Noni is powerful. Our brand is making other
businesses possible. Dating back to our discussions in 1996, we are
beginning to taste a tiny bit of what
we envisioned back then. We have developed the strongest product strategy
in the industry based on proprietary, exclusive, patented products that we
have a virtual
monopoly on. You will see the progression of our product line get stronger
and stronger, bucking the typical trend of most companies that get weaker
and weaker in their
product offerings as time goes on. (Can anyone think of any product
introduced since 1996 that comes even close to TAHITIAN NONI® Juice?)
Our brand and unconventional approach that we call Access Marketing is the
buzz of the industry. This concept is bringing large Distributors to TNI
from other companies.
We touched on three supportive business ventures that our Distributors can
immediately relate to:
Morinda Entertainment
Co-Venture with Meiji
Tahitian Noni Café.
To say that the Tahitian Noni Café has created excitement is a gross
understatement. We are getting inundated with requests for
franchise rights and so on and so on as you may expect. This concept works
so beautifully with our strategy. There are so many
levels of synergy it is scary. Acting from the board meeting in Scottsdale,
I am beginning to assemble a business group dedicated to growing TN Café. I
want to tell you,
however, that this business is going to explode on us, so be prepared.
Tahitian Noni is magic and we all know it. This story and brand will take
us further than we, today, can even imagine. I can envision new ventures
coming into the picture,
and other ideas that are yet to be discovered. This fruit, this plant, is
the mother lode. We have communicated it to the world and we are in the
driver’s seat to create such
a business empire that it will scare us. Forgive my grandiose thinking, but
I’m telling you, it is real. As the next 5–10 years unfold, I envision a
company that will
completely obsolete any notion we have ever had of network marketing. We
will dissolve the boundaries between MLM and traditional retail and direct
marketing and all
other forms of distribution. This will be done because we have focused on
our brand and this strategy is opening the doors for us.
As we all begin another week, I wanted to share with you this vision and
this energy. We are in the driver’s seat and it feels like the whole world
of possibilities is before
us.”
