"Do You Take Your Prospecting to the Next Level?"
------------------------------------------------------------
We recently received this email from one of our subscribers:
"How is it that I can use the Internet to reach out
to people? How can I get them in contact with me?
How can I get them to think of me as an expert in
my field?"
I received this email, and thought about how to reply to it for
an entire day. It contains very thought provoking questions.
And then, it finally hit me:
the key is . . .
INFORMATION.
One of THE MOST EFFECTIVE methods of marketing on the Internet
(or anywhere) is to offer people information.
Information is everywhere - you constantly see ads on TV, in
magazines, etc. Companies that produce paper towels explain
why their product picks up quicker. On a regular basis, you
learn why a particular carpet cleaner is the most effective,
or why this shampoo makes your hair softer. Infomercials are
also becoming increasingly more popular - they spend an hour
describing a product, the benefits, and other information that
captures an audience and produces sales.
You may also notice the increasing popularity of informational
programs on television - Dateline, 60 Minutes, the Today Show
to name a few.
So, how can YOU harness the power of INFORMATION and use it to
reach out to the millions of potential prospects and customers
available to you on the Internet?
Over the next few weeks, we will describe many ways to do this
both for your prospects as well as your current customers, and
even your downline!
Today, we will start with one of the most effective ways to
take advantage of the power of information - WRITING AN ARTICLE.
You can write articles to prospect for *potential business
partners,* or you can write articles to seek out *customers* for
your products. And, of course, these customers can then become
better-qualified prospects for your business opportunity down
the road a little.
Writing Breeds Credibility
Credibility is an important part of your Web Identity. By
offering a FREE article, you have the opportunity to build
credibility with your reader, and there is nothing more
important than that when you are first trying to develop an
online relationship.
Your goal is to write something that is well researched, and
is truly beneficial to your intended reader. If they like what
they read, you have overcome a major hurdle, and the individual
will be more likely to consider buying the products or services
you are offering.
There's something about writing that makes people perceive you
as an expert.
One of our Members of the MLM Reporter put this into practice.
Here's what he had to say:
" . . . I just wanted to relay a good story, in hopes that
you will take advantage of what you are reading about here
relating to writing and distributing articles.
I wrote an article about 7 months ago that continues to float
around the Internet world. In the last 3 months, I have signed
up 12 distributors from that ONE article. No one was more
surprised than I was!
Take advantage of this absolutely FREE method of selling
. . . You won't regret it!"
- Steve Giroux (8-year MLM veteran)
So, how can YOU create an article? What should it be about?
How will you get people to read it? And, are there other
methods of taking advantage of the POWER OF INFORMATION?
Why Should You Write an Article?
Writing an article and getting it published will give you a
tremendous amount of exposure. The best part about this method
of exposure is the cost. It's FREE! You cannot beat great
advertising with no out of pocket expenses.
In addition, writing an article gives you the opportunity to
prove yourself as someone knowledgeable in your field. This
gives people a reason to correspond with you with questions
relating to your area of expertise. Hold yourself in high
regard, and other people will hold you in high regard as well.
Be a leader!
So, What Do You Write?
Your goal is to write something that is well-researched, and
is truly beneficial to your intended reader. If they like what
they read, you have overcome a major hurdle, and the individual
will be more likely to consider buying the products or services
you are offering.
Look at your description of your "niche market," and think long
and hard about subjects that would interest that market, that
somehow relate to a product or a part of your business. Let
your thoughts flow, and write down as many article topics as
you can think of.
Writing For Your Customers
When you are preparing to write your article, be sure to think
long and hard about what would appeal to prospective customers,
and lay out the facts in a clear and concise manner. Leave
nothing to their imagination. It is your goal to use your
article to relate to your "niche market." Be sure to identify
their need for them. Then, explain in detail how and why your
product or service will take care of that need. If you can
successfully convey a need, and offer a solution to that need,
you will definitely have yourself a customer.
For example, if you sell health products, write an article that
discusses the "top 10 fat burning foods." Or if you sell
communications products, you might write about the "top 10
charges the phone companies won't tell you about."
Writing For Your Business Opportunity
The basics of an article geared towards finding prospects for
your business opportunity and are very similar to your
product-related article. You are still focusing on a "niche
market," and you are not going to blatantly say in your article
what you do or what company you represent.
Instead, you might write about finding ways to generate extra
money, demystifying network marketing, or ever how you can
strengthen your family by having everyone working together
to build a business at home. Maybe you could interview different
members of your organization and write an article about their
thoughts, plans, and visions about home-based businesses.
Another possible topic could be discussing the tax benefits of
home-based businesses.
Use your imagination. Ask yourself what is the most interesting
and powerful thing about your business, and write about that.
In Conclusion . . .
Please remember - in your article, do not write specifically
about your company or your product(s). Avoid advertising, but
rather write on a subject that is of interest in society today
that somehow relates to one of your products or your opportunity.
**Be sure to draw people in - entice them to ask you questions
about your article. Encourage them to interact with you.
Perhaps at the end of the article, you could actually ask a
question, and encourage feedback. This is a FANTASTIC way to
build relationships.
I would like to end our discussion on using the power of
INFORMATION by writing articles with the following email we
received from one of our MLM Reporter members:
"Since I've started distributing my article around the
Internet, I wake up each morning to an inbox full of
responses and questions. I am now corresponding with
so many people each and every day. They look to me
for advice, and to knock around ideas and thoughts
with. Many of these people like what I have to say,
and have since become my customers, and many more have
become distributors. Not to mention that these people
have also become my friends.
Distributing an article that you have written can allow
you to get down to the HEART-AND-SOUL of Network
Marketing - building trust, building relationships, even
on the Internet.
I can't tell you enough how this one method has really
skyrocketed the productivity of my online MLM marketing
efforts. If you want a jumpstart in your business,
write and distribute an article. Go get 'em!" -Tracy Johnson
Have a GREAT week . . .
